Abbey's City House Cairns is a historic 2 storey Queenslander home where the rainforest meets the reef. The City House offers air-conditioned rooms [queen family, double, twin and single] as well as a private apartment. Rates start at $77 per night with the price for the apartment being $120.00. Abbey's is 10 minutes from the airport by bus to the front door at an approximate cost of $8.00, or approximately $12.00 for a taxi. WARNING:This site may cause you to jump on a plane. Abbey's City House B'n'B was established in 1982 and has ample old world charm in a 2 storey Queenslander with a city location that is just a short walk along Draper Street to Cairns Central Shopping Complex. The house is on the public bus route and taxis are on call.
All tours pick up from the house and these include the historic Kuranda train and village, the Rainforest Skyrail over the tree tops looking down over Cairns. Enjoy the fabulous Tjapukai Aboriginal Dance show and learn how to throw a boomerang from $90.00. Visit the Great Barrier Reef and snorkel with a marine biologist or try a resort dive and a glass bottom boat to view the coloured coral garden below with lunch included from $70.00. Another must see is a day along the coast to Cape Tribulation in the wet tropics where the Rainforest meets the Reef. Enjoy Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge and a continuous string of golden beaches and then back to Abbey's for a soak in the garden spa with a cool drink before one of the many restaurants or shop till you drop in the night markets. Your breakfast is served outside on the balcony with the birds to entertain you. Enjoy a tropical buffet of local produce.
